Biography

Angel Carrasco born in Washington D.C. and was raised in Puerto Rico.  Angel has been a sculptor since the age of 14. During his childhood, while living in the San Juan area of Miramar, he developed a passion for arts.  He attended Art classes at the age of 14 at Bellas Artes School in San Juan, Puerto Rico, for kids. He totally devoted himself to his art.  Angel was born with severe type dyslexia, which made him special in his own way.  In the art field, he took the advantage of his disability and turned into a positive way for him to see in a three-dimensional mind that allowed him to draw his objects in a 3D picture in his mind. He saw this as an advantage in order to progress and has used it in a positive manner in his art.  He now continues his new work with a new technic and imaginary mind that he has developed while living in Condado taking walks every morning and taking advantage of the beauty of the seasons, like leaves falling.  This has prompted him to develop new sculpting techniques that will be exhibited in the near future. In 1984, he moved to Spain to study at one of the most renowned Art Universities in the world, Universidad Politécnica De Valencia.  Angel holds his Master's Degree in Sculpting from this University. He demonstrates his fervor for his art through his perfectionism and fine details. He created his own style by developing a special technology related to sculptures.   In 2000, Angel was fortunate to meet Kim Taylor Reece, who was impressed with his work. He commissioned Angel to create pieces or art based on his photographic artwork. From that partnership, Angel has been able to evolve his work into a new stage.

Angel R. Carrasco became a certified artisan by the Puerto Rico's Fomento company in 2016. As an artisan, Angel creates his own materials for his artistic work on recognized art galleries in the metropolitan San Juan area.
